China ‘Wuxing’ or 5 Elements substantially precede their Western alternatives, connected, for instance, using the Yellow Emperor (circa 2,900 BCE). The ‘Four Aspects of the Wise’ (Earth, Air, Fire and Water) recognized to free airline have links to Socrates, Aristotle, Plato along with other Classical Greek Philosophers, thriving around 500 BCE. The Six Aspects of Indian Vedic tradition, popping in the ‘panchakarma’ (5 Elements linked together by ‘Spirit’ to create 6) similarly have later origination but reflect Chinese influence more clearly within their structure.
These influential Chinese originals motivated other sets’ later creation elsewhere, their influence moving either Westwards through the old Silk-streets into Asia Minor and, ultimately, Europe, or Eastwards into India and beyond.
The next composite diagram’s outdoors circle represents their ‘Productive’ Cycle’: Earth (yellow) produces Metal (whitened) which produces Water (blue) which produces Wood (green) this produces Fire (red-colored), when extinguished this produces Earth (ashes) and also the cycle starts anew. Each Element corresponds to one from the 5 major organs: Spleen, Lung area, Renal system, Liver and Heart, within the above sequence, generally symbolized using a Government. They are a principal focus of 5 Elements Internal Qigong.
The Star-formed internal inter-associations from the 5 Elements, symbolized within the diagram in Pentagram form, resembling a vertical human figure with arms outstretched, represents their ‘Destructive’ Cycle. Each Element rather than supporting/creating the following destroys/eliminates the following-but-one (1). From Wood (green) move along two to Earth (yellow) so it ‘destroys’(covering/burying it under plant life and removing nutrition).Earth destroys Water (blue, two places further on) by restricting/directing its freedom of motion, et. seq.
Stale ‘shar’ Qi is removed only at that level, via out-breathing and skin-breathing, for instance. Exterior Qigong focuses upon these levels.
Superficial Western encounters with China, up to now, lack knowledge of Qi, Qigong and related areas like Kung Fu (2) and Feng Shui, inextricably from the 5 Element Cycles. Thus the figures from the Government and Pentagram were imported in to the West and endowed with ‘Magic’ significance through the Medieval Alchemists (integrating the 4 Elements) with techniques entirely unrelated for their original ‘true’ significance. The Five Element links to those 5-on the sides figures are clearly original and natural.
Each Animal Year from the repeating 12-Year Chinese Ghanzi Cycles is supported by one from the 5 as ‘Year Element’, essentially moderating its influences. Elements manifests for 2 consecutive years in Yang then Yin form. This creates a parallel 10-Year Cycle, whose beginning can also be credited towards the Yellow Emperor-2012 is Year 4710 based on both Cycles. This, incidentally, discloses Chinese historic records and writings’ underlying precision-when number, Animal and Element ‘line up’ dates could be licensed genuine!
People, with Year Creatures based on birth-date, plus elemental attributions derived similarly, are susceptible to the altering influences of those as time progresses. 5 Elements Qigong, employed in harmony with your forces, allows people to enhance their health and get durability. The ‘Wuxing’ or 5 Elements influence our way of life, health, fortune and atmosphere in lots of ways, as Chinese Medicine (TCM), Feng Shui, Qigong and Chinese Philosophy make obvious-5 Elements Qigong offers valuable experience in to the workings of these processes.
